Symphony of the Seas...the inaugural voyage.

It all started on the morning of 31st March 2018, travelling to Barcelona to embark on a cruise on the latest giant of the seas, #SymphonyoftheSeas.

An early flight from the UK was wonderful as I arrived at the Port Terminal by 10.45am and was onboard, with a glass of bubbles in my hand, by 11.05am - the quickest I have ever got onboard.

Symphony of the Seas has a maximum capacity of 6,680 guests, but with just under 4000 passengers on this maiden voyage, it was not going to be bursting at the seams - which was good for me as I am not a huge fan of these monsters (although I think they are fabulous on Transatlantic crossings).

First impressions? I was in total awe! You cannot grasp the magnitude of this awesome ship until it towers in front of you as you prepare to board. Once onboard, you have 18 decks packed with things to do and see...how was I going to see everything in just a five night voyage?

Symphony of the Seas - View from Bedroom Porthole

Artwork in the main stairwells, Piano Stairs, Restaurants of nearly every type to cater to everyones needs and wants, Entertainment areas, Retail areas, Ice Shows (a must see!), Aqua Shows (weather dependant), Laser Quest, Children’s Areas, Carousels and so much more!

Being a big kid at heart, despite the weather, I loved the Abyss Slide (even going down in a dress and heels one evening!). The last day I tackled the water slides over and over again until I turned Blue.

There are lots of similarities to #Allure and #HarmonyoftheSeas, but I like the fact that #RoyalCaribbean continue to keep up high standards and find something new and exciting for their customers.

As we disembarked, all the crew were busy getting ready for the Presidents and CEO’s about to join the ship with the press for the next two nights...and, judging by the reviews I have read since, Symphony of the Seas is the ultimate get away for families of all kinds and people of all ages.

I look forward to the next Inaugural voyage.
