The final countdown...

So we are into the last 48 hours of preparation...

#Chilaxin has had all her checks and the new engine is purring nicely!

Last weekend we took her for a trip to Exmouth, having loaded her up with the majority of food and drink stores, to see if she handled any differently - nothing! Chilaxin is such an awesome boat and handles like a dream!

My home wardrobe is looking a little empty and I’m not entirely sure where all my clothes will go on the boat as there is limited space!  I just need to be clever with folding to make it all fit (wish me luck!).  You try to work out what you will and won’t need - Shorts, T-shirts, Jumpers, summer dresses, flat shoes, heels, stockings and suspenders (well you never know!!)

Food and dry stores have been a lot easier to deal with - a trip to Bookers, ikea (for airtight boxes) and with the huge under floor storage all tins, pasta, rice, water, gin and toffee vodka are all onboard and still plenty of room.  Cleaning products, toilet rolls (yes, proper ones for the boat, that are okay with the macerator and black tanks) are all in storage under our bed and can be accessed when required.

The house is in great hands while we are away with Katy, my Step Daughter, looking after everything (hoping the plants will still be alive when we return...no pressure Katy!).

Just a tidy up and hoover round on Thursday morning and final check that I have packed everything that I will need - especially tech chargers!

The weather is looking good for this weekend (unless you are in a sailing boat! ha! They would prefer more wind although 15kt at present is not too bad and a NE).

We will be leaving around 7am to get to St Peters Port for around 10am - allowing us time to get into the main marina and to have electric whilst we are there.

From Guernsey we will move on to Le Harve.

We have finally had confirmation from all the marinas in our first week in France, that we have a berth for each night, until we reach Paris.

While we are away, we will be following two amazing (or mad!) guys!

2 Mikes, 1 Boat - 2 very handsome guys who are going to be rowing from La Gomera across the Atlantic to Antigua in December.  They are raising money for Prostate Cancer and The Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation. MDL Brixham Marina and lots of other local businesses are supporting and getting involved. If you want to support them or donate to the causes that they are rowing for (or even purchase one of their NUDE Calendars - I must say they are photos that will make you smile ladies!), please take a look at their website.

Better still, if you want to meet these wonderful chaps, they will be at Devon County Show - Thursday 17th May, Brixfest, Brixham - Saturday 26th May, MDL Marina, Torquay - Saturday 9th June and Brixham Trawler Race - Saturday 16 June.

Great to see people at MDL Brixham Marina supporting 2 Mikes 1 Boats
